I am generally booked 6-8 weeks in advance. Because I book up so quickly for photography sessions I highly recommend that you book your newborn session while you are still pregnant.
Maternity Session Details:
If you are thinking about a maternity session, I generally recommend waiting until you are 6-7 months pregnant. You want that belly to show, and still be small enough that you feel CUTE!
For maternity images, I recommend black shirts, long sleeved or tank tops, jeans, perhaps a favourite outfit or your husband’s button down shirt, your favourite lingere set can also be fun. Don’t you think pregnant woman are beautiful? I do, and my goal with maternity images is to show you how GORGEOUS you are when you’re pregnant!
Details for Booking Your Newborn Session:
Because we can never be 100% sure when your little one will arrive, when you phone in to book a session we will reserve time for you around your expected due date. When the babe makes an apperance I ask that you add me to your list of people to call. We will then make a firm appointment for the next few days. Your session should take place within 3-10 days of the baby’s birth.
Newborns should be photographed within the first 7 days of life, my favorite day is day 4, mom’s milk has come in, the baby is getting enough to eat, and is sleeping well, and curling up small. Only prior to 7 days can we capture the sweet curling up that only very young newborns will do. We can get alot of really fun poses with them, that we just can’t do when they are older. (The images you see on my website are of babies younger than 10 days, usually younger than one week.) Also, after the first week is when yucky things like colic and baby acne begin! Please phone and book your newborn portrait session while you are still pregnant. I want to be able to fit your baby in while they are still small.
I generally prefer to photograph little babies with their parents holding them, it shows how small they are, and also comforts the baby to have someone familiar holding them. Both parents should bring a long sleeved black shirt and pants.
Session Details:
The session fee pays for my time and talent during the session, post production editing and a private online viewing gallery only. The viewing gallery will display your best images about 2 weeks after your session and will remain online for 1 week during which time you will need to place your order.
After you order your favourite images they will be ready for pick up in about 6 weeks.
I look at your images as an heirloom that I do not want to rush. QUALITY TAKES TIME!
